Thanksgiving

Hard times breed contempt and complaints. I'm certainly not exempt from this, so in light of that, a deliberate list of thanks to change my perspective.

I'm thankful for piles of dirty laundry, for it means that my house is full of active people.

I'm thankful for toys underfoot, for they are the flotsam and jetsam of my dear children.

I'm thankful for dirty dishes, for they are daily reminders of the meals we have in abundance.

I'm thankful for paying taxes, for it means that we are making enough money to contribute to our country's infrastructure.

I'm thankful for colds and runny noses, for these are mere nuisances compared to the myriad of diseases that most of the world faces.

I'm thankful for doctors bills, for we have immediate access to great healthcare.

I'm thankful for my shortcomings and failures, for they push me closer to the One who is continually perfecting me.

Happy Thanksgiving. May today be a day rich with blessings as you consider all that you have.

I Thessalonians 5:8 In everything give thanks, for this is the will of God for your life.
